"Good Morning Kids" album review by Electric Kids Music
Well if music is supposed to make you feel good, this album pushes all the right buttons. In Woody’s World the listener is taken on a musical adventure, delivered through some delightful songs of genuine authenticity and real emotion. The artist is very much a storyteller at heart, and despite sharing a Christian name with one of the most famous folk singers of all time; there is an earnest originality about the music. His ability to tell a story and describe the setting with such veracity enables the listener to feel a real sense of connection. This musical adventure unfolds like a fairy tale, where everybody is invited, and can equally contribute towards this utopian world, that if it did exist I for one would love to live there.

Track Name: Good Morning
Good morning dear earth and good morning dear sun,
Good morning dear trees and dear flowers everyone,
Good morning dear beasts and the birds on the trees,
Good morning to you and good morning to me.

Good morning the children that live on our street,
The wood ducks and tadpoles all down in the creek.
The bees making honey from blossoms anew,
Good morning to me, good morning to you.

Good morning, good morning,
Give thanks for the dawning.
The earth, and the seasons, the sun and the moon,
Good morning, good morning,
A new day is dawning,
For family and friendship,
For me and for you.

The fish in the rivers, the clouds in the sky,
The wattles and gum trees that grow up so high,
The Kookaburra singing so gaily and free,
Good morning to you and good morning to me.

Good morning, good morning,
Give thanks for the dawning.
The earth, and the seasons, the sun and the moon,
Good morning, good morning,
A new day is dawning,
For family and friendship,
For me and for you.

And all the mums and daddies are walking and they’re talking,
All the mums and daddies are walking to the show.

Roll up Roll up don’t be late,
Take your ticket up to the gate.
Find your seat up in the stand,
Shout and cheer and clap your hands…with the band.

Track Name: Friends
Well I got some friends; I got some really, really, really good friends,
I got some friends; I got some really, really, really good friends.

One of my friends, well she lives just down the street,
She’s the kind of friend, the kind of girl that you got to meet!
We found some chocolates and some minties too,
When her dad came inside he said, “Girls I smell mischief I do!”

I got some friends; I got some really, really, really good friends.
I got some friends; I got some really, really, really good friends.

One of my friends, well she’s got really dark skin,
She was my best friend, we were like sisters, like kin!
She went up north and she left our little school,
I miss her so much cos she was so funny and cool.

Chorus

One of my friends lives half way up the mountain side,
We like to play shops with anything we can find!
So many animals her place is just like the zoo!
Chickens and ducks, a turkey and a kangaroo.

Chorus
Track Name: Whacko Bluey
Well we loaded up the trailer and we said goodbye to school,
Crossed the Great Divide with the engine running cool.
We cruised on up the Melba Highway,
Towards Deb and Padge’s, we had come to stay.

Well Padge was there to greet us with his cheeky sense of fun,
Some say he’s like Ned Kelly or Clancy on the run.
Debbie right beside him, well she’s as sweet as snow,
Padgy is the boss, but Debbie runs the show.

Whacko Bluey, echoes through the trees,
Whacko Bluey brings me to my knees.
And you can bet a dollar or anything you please,
That I’ll remember fondly times like these.

Well we saddled up the horses and we rode off down the track,
Frosty is a goer and Snip stays down the back.
Wellie hangs with Juke and boy can Jimmy fly,
And Monty needs reminding to behave when he’s outside!

Well Liam copped a “Padgeful” and Joey got a fright,
And Beck was riding sideways, but she held on really tight.
Some were jumping tree stumps along the Murray’s side,
“How good is this?” said Padgy, “You bushrangers can ride!”

Chorus

Well later in the evening when we set those horses free,
The kids were telling stories while I had my cuppa tea.
Then Deb and Padge joined us around the fire bright,
With guitars and fiddles blazing we played into the night.

And if this story’s worth a telling there’s one more thing to say,
What I learned from Deb and Padgy still lives in me today.
You won’t get it from a movie or see it on TV,
But a stay with these kind folk will set your spirit free.

Chorus
Track Name: Say You Do
Say you do love me, say you do love me,
Say you do love me, like I love you.
Say you do love me, say you do love me,
Like I love you.

Leaves are falling from the trees,
Shining stars in the evening breeze,
Flowers have closed their delicate heads,
Soon I’ll be tucked up tight in bed.

Chorus

Fairies are flittering in my dreams,
I could touch them or so it seems,
Dancing, spinning, twirling around,
Tapping their feet on the mossy ground.

Chorus

Over the ocean, over the sea,
Over the ocean with my friends and family.
Track Name: Sing!
You know what is wrong and you know what is right,
Sometimes it’s kind of grey, and sometimes it’s black and white.
But angels can appear in the devil’s disguise,
So keep your vision open when you look down from the skies.

And sing…

Laugh out loud with your family and friends,
Don’t hesitate to say what should be said.
Life is too short to wallow in fear,
Let your voice ring out steady and clear.

And sing…

Sing for the future
Sing for the dreaming
Sing for your freedom
Sing sing sing

No matter where you’re going, no matter who you meet,
No matter where you’re thrown, you’ll land upon your feet.
And if you lose yourself or stumble on the ground,
Just get up again and smile away that frown.
And sing

You know that I know that we know these things…

Sing sing sing
Track Name: Ralph the Snake
We’re told to care for kangaroos and to protect old emus,
We’re nice to wombats and birds that fly, but there’s one creature we always pass by.
It’s not that dangerous really, but it could strike at any opportunity,
Some are brown and some are black and some have stripes all down their back.

They go SSSSSSSSSS

There’s the Taipan with his poisonous fangs and the green snake up in the tree that hangs,
There’s the Copperhead and the Black Snake, too, but I’ve only got time to mention a few.
Like the Tiger that’s living underneath my house, the kids and I well we named him Ralph,
I think he thinks he owns the place, with a pool, a car and a parking space.

He goes SSSSSSSSSS

The other day we were having tea when Ralph slid up right next to me,
I smiled at him and he smiled back, he licked his lips and hissed, “I want a snack”.
I quickly thought, ‘Do I run or freeze?’, and then felt I just had to sneeze,
I couldn’t hold on any more, so I let out a God-All-Mighty roar.

Ralph went SSSSSSSSSS

So if you see Ralph, remember what I say, before you come to visit or say G’day,
Don’t shake his hand if he wants to play, and everything will be OK.
Track Name: Catch the Leaves
In winter we go playing in the rain or snow,
We have to put our boots on then out the door we go.
In spring time when the leaves and the flowers start to grow,
We ride along the trail where the magpies swoop so low.

Catch the leaves when they fall…

In summer when it’s hot and the cool wind doesn’t blow,
We jump into the Yarra where the waters cold as snow.
Autumn is my favourite of any time of year,
The days are warm and sunny, the nights are crisp and clear.

I play catch the leaves when they fall…
Red, golden, yellow and green.
Track Name: Charlie and Belinda Mouse
One day when I was walking home, I picked up a magic stone,
I held it tight and I closed my eyes, I held my breath and I shrank in size.
The world got big and I got small, for all the grass was really tall,
I found myself outside the house of Charlie and Belinda Mouse.

Charlie and Belinda Mouse, invited me into their house,
I went in and had some tea; next time won’t you come with me?

I wiped my feet upon the mat, put my coat upon the rack,
I passed a room with six little beds and twelve little slippers all white and red.
And there in the kitchen all in a row, were six little bread boards all with dough,
A table neat and carefully laid - a dozen little muffins on a baking tray.

Charlie and Belinda Mouse, lived inside a tiny house,
They’re as friendly as can be; next time won’t you come with me?

I was about to drink my tea, but Belinda said, “Just hold on please,
Charles ring the bell at least four times, let the little ones know that its supper time”.
Harriet, Scarlet, Ginger, Pride, they wiped their feet and they came inside,
“Jordan where is baby Peep?”, “He’s under a mushroom having a sleep”.

Charlie and Belinda Mouse, lived inside a tiny house,
I ate my muffin, drank my tea, next time won’t you come with me?

After supper and a chat, it was time to grab my coat and hat,
I thanked them for a lovely time, we all smiled and hugged goodbye,
Then I rubbed the stone three times, held my breath and closed my eyes,
And then I was my normal size.
Track Name: Thing Like That
Have you ever had a shower with your clothes on?
Ever had a bath with a cat?
Ever brushed your hair with a toothbrush?
Ever blown your nose in your hat?
Have you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever done a thing like that?
Ever flown to the moon on a silly old broom?
Have you ever done a thing like that?

Do you ever sleep walk or sleep talk?
Have you ever fallen out of bed?
Have you ever pulled out your eyeball?
And looked at the back of your head?
Have you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever done a thing like that?
Ever cuddled a sheep to help you get to asleep?
Have you ever done a thing like that?

Have you ever heard a dog go quack?
Ever heard a bird say meow?
Ever seen a mouse chase a cat?
Ever heard a woof from a cow?
Have you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever heard a thing like that?
Ever seen a pig fly with an emu in the sky?
Have you ever seen a thing like that?

Have you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever seen a thing like that?
Have you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever seen a thing like that?
Track Name: Give Me a Clap
Give me a clap…
Give me two pops…
Give me three taps…
Give me four stomps…
Give me five clicks…
Give me six whistles…
Give me seven blinks
Give me a clap!
Track Name: Hercules the Alley Cat
Well I’ve got a cat at home, I call him Hercules,
He was a stray from the country; he was saucy and full of fleas.
Now he wanders round the city streets in a waistcoat and a hat,
And that’s why I christened him Hercules the Alley Cat.

Hello, Hercules Alley Cat living in our street.

Hercules lives with me in my little house,
You hear him walking across the roof he’s quiet as a mouse.
He’s looking down on the town and the people passing by,
And if you look straight up at him he’ll wink a sleepy eye.

That’s Hercules Alley Cat living in our street.

After breakfast Hercules, down the lane he goes,
He joins the strays from the factory yard, there must be a dozen or so.
And the lady next door keeps calling him, “Lunchtime’s drawing near”,
And then out from under the fence, old Hercules appears.

Hello, Hercules Alley Cat living in our street.

Well it’s fun to be a city cat, but danger’s never far,
There’s the cat catcher from the councils around and watch out for trucks and cars!
And beware of the big black dog who’s chasing you, so watch out Hercules,
It’s safer up on the iron roof or in the old peach tree.

That’s Hercules Alley Cat living in our street.
Track Name: Mumma's Havin' a Baby
Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
There so much we got to do!

We got to get the baby new shoes,
We got a baby’s name to choose,
We got to paint the baby’s room,
Should it be pink or blue?

Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
Which name should we choose?

Well there’s Johnny or Jimmy or Tony or Phil,
Liam or Thomas or Harry or Bill …
Dad, what if it’s a girl?
I’ve already thought about that!

There’s Megan or Mandy or Molly or Melissa,
Sarah or Anna or Jenny or Larissa,
But I am starting to warm to the sound of Patricia.
There’s a name we could choose!

Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
Mamma’s gonna have a baby real soon,
Which name should we choose?

There are so many names in this book you see,
1001 from A to Z,
What about a name that starts with G?
What do you think about that?

Mum likes Anna and Dad likes Pat,
I like Sally and you like Matt.
Hey, we could name it after Uncle Jack!
Which name will we choose?

Mamma’s having a baby tonight,
Mamma’s having a baby tonight,
Mamma’s having a baby tonight,
Will it be a boy or girl?

Mamma’s having the baby right now!
Mamma’s having the baby right now!
Mamma’s having the baby right now!
Which name should we choose?
Track Name: One Man Band
I’ve had enough of being a one man band,
I might find someone to lend a hand,
Hey Damo, the tambourine man.

Tamborine is nice steady and sweet,
Now some cowbell with a syncopated beat.

I need something with a mellow feel,
A banjo player who keeps it real.

I could jam with a four piece band,
But Hue on the glock, he is the man.

Hue on the glock and all his antics,
I need some claps that sound gigantic.

We’re starting to find a groove in five,
And with Tim’s cello we hit our stride.

Now grab some pots and pans and sticks,
Let’s chuck the whole kitchen sink in the mix.

This eight piece band is so much fun,
Andy on the trumpet he’s number one!

I like that vibe but it’s got to go higher,
Let’s bring in a children’s choir.

The kids are sweet,
But I want to be a star in a rock ‘n‘roll band with drums and a lead guitar.

Now an orchestra is what I need,
The world’s biggest band is jamming with me!

Maybe sitting on the porch is more my speed, my old guitar is all I need,
I don’t want to be a star, just me and my old guitar,
Me and my old guitar.
Track Name: Storm
It’s time to come inside for there is a storm coming,
Fire’s burning bright; I can hear the bath is running,
There’s a funny feeling in the air this evening.
Yes, yes, yes, the storm is coming,
Yes, yes, yes, the storm is coming.

The dogs have come to hide underneath my bed so shyly,
Moon has said goodbye, but somewhere she is shining brightly,
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter on the rooftop.
Yes, yes, yes, the storm is coming!
Yes, yes, yes, the storm is coming!

Can you hear the sound? Thunder and lightning crashing,
Wind is all around, blowing in the trees and thrashing.
Where do all the birds and the possums go to?
Yes, yes, yes the wind is blowing,
Yes, yes, yes the storm is growing.
Track Name: I'm Flying
I’m flying way above the trees, on the summer breeze, heading out to sea.
I’m flying way up in the clouds, if you can see me now, you can follow me.

I’m flying…And I don’t know when I’ll land.

There are colours in the heart, sometimes things fall apart, and you feel alone.
And then you see a light afar, could it be your shooting star, you know you’ve just come home.

I’m flying…And I don’t know where I’ll land.
I’m flying… And I don’t know when I’ll land.
Track Name: Good Night Everybody
Good night everybody, sleep well everybody,
Pull your covers up tight.
Good night everybody, sleep well everybody,
Cuddle your teddy so tight.

Don’t let the bedbugs crawl and don’t let them bite,
Don’t let the monsters growl and give you a fright,
Just cuddle your teddy so tight.
